Safety instructions of the Cévennes Vélorail
Art. 1
Smoking is strictly prohibited on the course and in the turning areas:
RISK OF FOREST FIRES.
Art. 2
One person over 18 years of age must be present on each velorail.
Art. 3
Velorail users are defined according to the following age criteria:
Adult: over 18.
Teenager: 13 to 18 years old.
Child: between 4 and 5 years old and/or 22 KG maximum up to 13 years old.
Infants: between 9 months and 4 to 5 years and/or 22 KG maximum.
Art. 4
The minimum age required to use the velorail is 9 months. Children must be placed in an approved seat provided by the operator.

Only people taller than 1m20 are allowed on the saddles.
Art. 7
For primary, secondary and high school groups, and by derogation to article 2, a person over 18 years of age must be present in the first and last velorail as well as on 1/2 velorail.
Art. 8
Organized groups of pre-school / nursery school children are not accepted.
Art. 9
For safety reasons, particularly those relating to pedestrian evacuation, the use of the velorail by people with motor disabilities is forbidden.
Art. 10
Pregnant women are advised not to use the velorail due to possible vibrations.
Art. 11
We do not recommend velorail activities for people with impaired hearing, due to the risk of squealing wheels on the rail during curves and braking.
Art. 12
Access to the velorails by persons under the influence of alcohol or illicit substances is forbidden.
Art. 13
Animals are not allowed on the Velorails.
Art. 14
The compulsory distance between each velorail is 50 meters.
Art. 15
Descents are dangerous. Simultaneous braking by both people pedaling on the brake pedal every 20 meters and in successive jerks is imperative. Wet tracks increase braking distances; speed should be adapted to ensure a 50-meter gap between vehicles.
Art. 16
Bumper-to-bumper traffic between velorails is strictly forbidden.
Art. 17
Stopping in the middle of the track and getting off the velorail, with the exception of crossing PN11 and at the ends of the route, is strictly forbidden.
Art. 18
Standing and pedaling while the velorail is in motion is strictly forbidden.
Art. 19
Any damage to the equipment caused by non-compliance with these instructions will be invoiced to the hirer. Legal action may be taken.
Art. 20
In the event of an accident or incident, the accompanying agent must be alerted. His telephone number appears on the handlebars at the center of the Velorail.
The position will be communicated to him using the hectometric markers (every 100 metres) materialized by a white sign on a black background and placed on the sleepers in the center of the track.
Art. 21
In the event of adverse weather conditions, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the race before the start, or to modify the course.
Art. 22
The accompanying agent may forbid access to any person whose behavior is not in keeping with the activity.
Art. 23
Failure to comply with safety instructions is the sole responsibility of the user and not that of the operator.
Art. 24
The user undertakes to comply with all velorail signs, i.e. slow down and STOP, encountered along the route.
